The Department of Computer Applications was established in the academic year 1998 - 1999 with an annual intake of 30. Approved by the AICTE vide No. F.No.T.N.02/MCP.CS/98 dt 16.07.99 and affiliated to Anna University, the intake was increased to 60 in the next year. It is a 3 years PG programme, under the dynamic leadership of Senior Professors and Assistant Professors.
The DOTE approved lateral entry (Direct II year) admissions in the year 2013-2014. A separate block is provided with well furnished class rooms, department library and Computer lab. Successfully 15 batches of students passed out from our department and they are placed in reputed organizations like Siemens, Banglore, WIPRO, IBM, TCS, US Software, Accenture etc.

To inculcate a scholastic ambience of learning-thinking in young minds; to keep up with the ever evolving competitive computing field. Develop resourceful, industrious professionals, proficient enough and ethically upright to apply knowledge and education for the development of our nation. It is anticipated that upon completion of the course, graduates will possess skills and knowledge to create impact in any organization. Students will have the opportunity to express their capability both as a team worker and independent learner; thereby the students get good placements in their area of interest. During the course, students will have extensive networking opportunities within the wider course team as well as with the University.
We conducted Inter College Meet for the final year UG students of various Arts & Science Colleges on 26.02.2016. The Department of MCA conducted a two days workshop on Android Applications on 29.02.2016 and 01.03.2016. We also conducted a National Level Technical Symposium on 07.10.2016.
