Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Description

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Rajas Engineering College, Vadakkangulam was started in the year 1994 with an annual intake of 60 students. In the year 2002,our department was accredited by National Board of Accreditation, AICTE, New Delhi. In the year 2008, we got the approval for Post Graduate course in Power Systems and Engineering. Later on by 2011, we got approval for one more PG programme in Power Electronics and Drives. All UG and PG Programmes are affiliated to Anna University.

We have fully fledged class rooms with OHP projectors. We have four laboratories with modern gadgets to improve the practical knowledge of the students. We have a department library which consists of more than 300 volumes on Electrical & Electronics Engineering related books. Discipline and character development also goes hand in hand with our academic development. By allowing our students to do project works in renowned research and development organizations like ISRO, BHEL, BSNL, Regional Research Laboratories, Electronic Research and Development centers in the scientific and engineering field in India, we help them to become knowledged engineers.

Objective

The mission of the Electrical & Electronics Engineering program is to prepare its graduates for a rapidly changing technological field. The faculty of the department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering strive to educate and train the students in a technically sound and challenging manner in order to achieve the following educational objectives:

To prepare graduates to pursue professional careers or continue their education in graduate programs.

To ensure that graduates are proficient and competent in at least one of the following Electrical & Electronics Engineering areas:. Electrical Machines, Transmission and Distribution, Control Systems, Electric Energy Generation, Utilisation and Conservation, Solid State Drives, Power System Analysis, Measurements and Instrumentation.

To produce graduates who will pursue life-long learning and professional development.

To develop the ability among students to synthesize data and technical concepts for application to product design.

To provide students awareness of the life-long learning and to introduce them to professional ethics and codes of professional practice.

To provide training to solve problems relevant to the practice of Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Engineering Design.
